ANOTHER Frodsham & District Bowls League season opens on Wednesday with Division One champions Grapes A at home to newly-promoted Kingswood B, who will be keen to stay up this time.

Red Lion A will expect to win at home to Helsby B as will Pavilions A, entertaining Red Lion B and Castle Park A, who have a visit from Chetwode A.

The other two games in Division One are likely to be close with the other promoted side, Tiger's Head A, at home to Goshawk A, while Egerton A will be pushed all the way by visitors Helsby D.

Manley A and Willow Brook A have returned to Division Two after just the one season in the top flight.

They start with home games against Subscription A and Castle Park B and will expect to win.

Goshawk B host War Memorial B at Mouldsworth while Conservative Club A will hope to start with a win at home to Runcorn Hill.

Pavilions B and E face the newly-promoted sides in Grapes B and Helsby A and close games are forecast.

Division Three newcomers Norton Arms B will be tested at home by Kingsley A as will the other promoted side, Egerton B, who entertain Tiger's Head B.

Kingswood A and Subscription B should triumph at home against Halton A and Rock Park.

The game between War Memorial A and Crowton is likely to be very tight.

Division Four looks to be wide open with Union Tavern, who are now settled at Rock Park, expected to win against Conservative Club B.

The same goes for Helsby C, who have a visit from the Spinner & Bergamot.

Chetwode B versus Willow Brook B will be close, as will Halton B and Pavilions D, while the clash of Kingsley B and Hazel Pear could go either way.

Teams without lights should ensure they make a prompt start.
