MIKE Wellman won Chester Police Flyfishers' match at Blithfield Reservoir, near Uttoxeter.

In the Cheshire Police AC match, no one could catch Martin Regan on the Beech Pool at Burton Mere Fishery.

Carp weighing 39-0-0 put him well clear of second-placed Alan Roberts with 33-12-0 of carp and skimmers and Mark Greasley with 31-8-0.

Malpas AC fished on club waters as David Jones took 14-15-0 of carp to win their match, dwarfing Alan Jones' 0-14-0. Top juniors were Andrew Williams with 8--4-0 of carp and Roy Evans with 5-13-0.

Ron Evans was victorious in the Grosvenor Estate AC match at Eaton Hall Serpentine. His rudd weighed 2-7-0, bettering Brian Summerville with likewise for 1-0-0 and Danny Mork on 0-8-0.

First place was tied in the Royal Mail Chester AC match at Tarvin Sands Fishery. Peter Hodge and Mark Bailiff each took carp weighing 32-0-0. George Rothwell followed in third with 26-8-0.

Blacon Social Club AC fished at Lower Ridge Farm Fishery where Michael Coleclough won with 9-4-0 of carp followed by Fred Woods and Mick Ferns each with 9-0-0.

Cyril Knobbs won the Saltney Social AC match on Hampton Springs Fishery's Willow Pool. A mixed 32-8-0 was enough to see off Gavin Lloyd with 19-0-0 and Brian Williams with 18-0-0.

Steve Renshaw and John Chamberlain were inseparable in Mickle Trafford AC's match at Ty Mawr Reservoir.

Each took a brace of rainbows to weigh 4-0-0, while third went to George Mitchell with a 2-8-0 rainbow.

Dave Wilcocks reeled in the biggest haul in the Wednesday evening Lobol AC match on their Priory Pool. A bit of everything added up to 14-8-0 for Wilcocks, better than Ian Palmer's 13-12-0 and Paul Wynn's 11-8-0.

Top rod in the Saturday match at the Willow Pool at Hampton Springs Fishery was Peter Cooke with carp weighing 28-0-0, just edging ahead of Glyn Maddocks' barbel and bream for 26-4-0. Both were well clear of Barry Carlson in third with 13-0-0.

Peg neighbours Neil Faulkner and Wendy Locker claimed the top two spots in the Tuesday Rovers AC match on the Willow Pool at Hampton Springs Fishery. Drawn alongside each other, it was Faulkner who won with 33-12-0 with Locker finishing with 25-0-0. Third was Frank Doran on 24-4-0.

Steve Openshaw easily won the Thursday open match at Lingmere Fishery. A bag of carp, bream and tench gave him 71-2-0, more than Phil Ashdown's 60-12-0 and Steve Balson's 58-4-0.

Ashdown was top rod in the Saturday match, however, with a mixed 63-4-0. Alan Dewhurst was next with 59-0-0 and Chris Smith with 27-14-0.
