EXCELLENT catches featured in last Sunday's Ellesmere Port British Legion AC match on the match lake at the Border Fishery.

Barry Hawkswood won with 67-6-0 including a 8-0-0 carp, beating Joe Grieves on 49-4-0.

Wirral AC made some quality catches when they went wandering to Larscord Lake at Stourport. Top rod was Chris Lawrence with carp and bream at 73-1-0, too good for Eddy Johnson with a 17-0-0 carp in his 60-1-0 catch.

Ian Courtney took the glory in the Wednesday evening match of Lobol AC on their priory pool. A net of ide, tench and crucians weighing 4-14-0 put him clear of Mike Taylor with likewise of 3-7-0.

First went to Steve Openshaw in Saturday's Lingmere Fishery open match. His bream, chub and carp catch weighed 57-6-0, clear of Dave Randles senior on 44-14-0 of the same.

Caldy AC fished locally last Sunday on the Lingmere Fishery. With a mixed 48-15-0, Steve Ball was too good for Craig Swain with a carp-based 32-9-0.

Tom Hewitt of Ellesmere Port took advantage of the carp feeding last week on the Grove fishery, landing a 9-0-0, 7-0-0 and 6-0-0 to sweetcorn as well as bread.

Kevin Dickson took a mainly carp 100-0-0 on the Cheshire Fishery last week including a 12-8-0 carp taken to paste.

Peter McKensey did well on the Milton Green Fishery last week. The Ellesmere Port man took a 17-0-0 common carp in his 45-0-0 catch, to luncheon meat and floating breadcrust.

Castrol SAS enjoyed a two-day break fishing from a boat out of Plymouth, with Stuart Birks taking a 55-0-0 conger eel to mackerel strip. Jim Fellows included a 22-0-0 ling in his catch and Les Williams landed a 15-0-0 pollock.
