Eighty-year-old John Sheffield was the winner of the Reaseheath GC Captain's Day. The 18-handicapper notched a Stableford score of 43 take the title.
Runner-up due to countback was Dennis Murphy, with 43 points. Top lady was Margaret Jervis with 44 points, while runner up Beryl Young carded 41 points.
Alan Jones won the prize for the best front nine, while Jon Staton took the best back-nine prize, and hit the longest drive, with 285 yards.
Captain Brian Gough thanked the 55 members for supporting his day and for their contributions towards the McMillan Nurses. Meanwhile, Reaseheath won 4-0 in a mixed-match with three teams from Macclesfield Probus.
At Alvaston GC, Jim Whitlow won the Presidents Shield with a Stableford score of 47 points off a handicap of 22. Peter Rigby was a point behind in second, while Peter Rigby and Graham Chafer were joint third with 43.
At Queen's Park GC, the pair of K Bennett and A Bennett won the Four Ball Better Ball competition on Thursday, with 58 points. Runner-up spot was taken by M Hough and P Bradshaw, with 61.
