ATHLETICS: CHESHIRE Tigers opened their new season with a series of pleasing performances at the weekend.
Under-20 athletes from Macclesfield, Crewe and Nantwich, Vale Royal and West Cheshire AC clubbed together for the first round of the National Junior Track and Field League Mersey Division fixture staged at Bolton's Leverhulme Park.
Vale Royal's Fiona Rudkin (4:59.4) and Stevie Stockton (10:52.7) celebrated successes from the 1,500m and 3k respectively.

The Tigers boys' squad finished fifth in their match at Bolton.
Vale Royal's Stephen Butterfield returned to action after injury and boosted his confidence with a 100m time of 11.5 seconds.
Andrew Ellis dominated the 2k steeplechase to record an easy victory.
