WINS in three successive games over Cricketers put Our Mike's on a winning course in the Cheshire Roof Trusses 501 section of the Widnes league.

Our Mike's opened the scoring through A Davies and went 3-1 ahead after Bob Mason had equalised.

M Lunt won the third singles game and opening pair R Pichilingi & Chris McLean left Cricketers in a fragile position.

They struck back through Dave Leather & Mick Davies. However, there was no stopping Our Mike's who decisively took three in a row through J Davies & Ste Cosgrove, J Davies and Frank Cosgrove.

The final game went to Cricketers' S Grady.

Halton Stadium were hard pushed at home to Widnes Bowling Club.

Stadium bagged the first two points through Barry Stanners (19 darts) and John Bowles (18 darts).

Bowler bettered this with three in a row from Peter Bowles and, in the pairs, J Batty & Alan Magee and Jason Haddock & Steve Jones.

Stadium levelled courtesy of Joe Price & Barry Stanners, but further wins from Steve Jones & Alan Magee (16 darts) put WBC in pole position

Joe Price's 18 darter in the last game came too late.

Mill Brow defeated Buffs despite the eventual losers breaking the deadlock through Bing Gray and then regaining the initiative at 2-1.

Brow's Stuart Bousfield had won the second game but Tez Gallagher confirmed the RAOB's early promise.

They were stopped in their tracks, however, by four successive victories.

The damage was done by John Glover & Mark Harrison, Stuart Bousfield & Paul Linger, James Baines & James Gorst and Paul Linger.

The Buffs, in a no-win situation, took the last two points with wins from D Batty and Ray Dutton.
