THE players, parents and officials of Hoole LTC have enjoyed another busy and successful season in what has been a great British summer of sport.

The long-established club, which holds LTA Clubmark accreditation and was a Cheshire Club of the Year 2011 finalist, has seen impressive team and individual performances this year.

Hoole’s 8&U ‘A’ team reached the Aegon Cheshire League semi-finals and the 18&U boys team won their group in Division One of the Aegon competition.

In the Wirral League, the Hoole 10&U team finished third in Division One, while the 12&U ‘A’ and ‘B’ teams came third and fourth respectively in Division Two.

In the Chester League, Hoole 14&U and 16&U teams both finished third.

Six of Hoole’s junior players competed at the Cheshire County Championships, with Saleem Rizvi winning the 14&U boys doubles and Katie Merrick reaching the final of the 14&U girls doubles.

Katie was also runner up in the Cheshire County Road to Wimbledon competition and qualified to compete in the National Road to Wimbledon event at the Roehampton National Tennis Centre.

The annual Hoole Open Tournament, run by and held at Hoole LTC, built on previous years’ popularity with an increase in the number of entrants, events run and matches played with all competitors being offered bonus matches.
