VALE Royal AC won four of the eight Cheshire County Road Relay titles at Stockport on Sunday.

Their success came at under 13s girls, an under 15s double and a probable record-breaking run from their senior ladies team.

At 17, Stevie Stockton and Victoria Jones with 18-year-old Laura Lambert made up the youngest team ever to win the race, or even a major senior county event.

Robyn Ellis, Claire Perry and Megan Huxley made up the winning U13s girls.

Kathy Stringer, Nichola Meadows and Rebecca Craigie were U15s winners and the club entered two other teams.

They were joined among the gold medals in the same age group by Andrew Perry, Eddie Crowther and Andy Clewes.

U13s boys Lewis Healey, David Nicholson and Andrew Zimmer were fourth; Hannah Weedall, Corinne Kinvig and Kate Howard were U17s silver medallists as were Vale Royal's boys at the same age, namely Zach Cross, Chris Perry and Tom Heaward and also running were Kieran Kinvig and Peter Cox.

Vale Royal's men took silver and bronze through Stephen Mitchell, Mark Mitchell, James Griffiths, George Thompson, Gareth Williams, Stuart Doyle, James Edwards, Mark Thornley, John Davies and David Gough.
