RUNCORN & District Carlsberg UK Bowling Association's Murphy Cup is heading for Widnes or Helsby.
United Services Club will play Helsby C in the final at Halton Royal British Legion Club next Thursday.
USC defeated Pavilions A 161-145, despite Simon Jones (21-9) giving the Weston Point side early impetus.
The Services hit back with four single-figure wins, the best being Jimmy Walsh's 21-6.
Fred Hart promptly boosted Helsby C's prospects with a 21-7 and although Bev Brooks (21-6) countered for Kingsley, the Chester Road side came good again with Cindy McLean getting home 21-6.
Unbeaten Red Lion lost their unbeaten Section One record to hosts USC (Tommy Baynham 21-4).
Leaders Grapes B dropped just two chalks at basement outfit Egerton B with George Gibson (21-4) and John Brown (21-5) to the fore. Barry Ellis' 21-19 helped 'Eggie' avoid a whitewash.
Egerton A climbed to third with a 147-163 win over Ball O'Ditton but have played a game more.
Frodsham Conservative B (Mal Cleworth 21-8) stayed top of Division Two despite a one-chalk defeat at Norton (Fred Shone 21-7) but other contenders have played fewer matches.
John Newhouse (21-3) spurred second-placed Helsby C's success at Frodsham Conservative A (Sid Littlemore 21-12).
Third-placed Willow Brook's open date allowed Subscription B, in fourth, to close the gap between the two to 27 chalks with a 142-144 win at Corporation. Joyce Stange's 21-1 victory was priceless.
Section Three leaders Grapes A had big wins from Scott Lindsey (21-2) and Jimmy Dobson (12-6) when overpowering weakened Kingswood B 185-109.
Alan Antrobus (21-7) and Mike Egerton (21-9) chipped into Halton RBL A's 146-168 win at Helsby B which kept them second.
Two points adrift of Legion are Pavilions D, 121-176 winners at Helsby D.
* The only shock of Thursday's P&A Morgan Cup was Section One side War Memorial B's 201-192 defeat by Subscription B of Section Two. This was despite a 21-7 victory by Warmy's Dennis Sharp.
The quarter-final draw is: Grapes A 55 v Union Tavern 45 at Subs; Subs B 45 v Pavilions D 55 at Grapes; Subs A 35 v War Memorial A 65 or Norton B 55 at Pavilions Two; Frodsham Conservative A 45 v Manley 50 at Castle Park.
