FENTON Manor Leisure Centre was the location of City of Chester Swimming Club’s latest success.

Head coach Barry Healey sent 16 swimmers to the City of Stoke Swimming Club 2009 open.

Once there they won four gold, eight silver and nine bronzes while competitors also finished fourth to sixth in 16 other races.

Alex Slater – in the 11-year-old group – had a very good weekend with hat-tricks of both silver and bronze medals.

The girls in his age group – Lauren Goodfellow, Sarah Hussey and Jessica Jackson – finished mainly in the top six for their events.

Sophie Armstrong was the club’s sole representative in the 12-year-olds, sealing two golds and two silvers.

The 13s saw Alice Carr, Amy Jackson, Lizzie Little and Georgina Roberts collectively take eight top six finishes including one gold, one silver and two bronze medals.

Rachel Stevens picked up two top six places in the 14s as did Paula Clethro and Rosie Martin in the 15s.

Gillian Bentley, Georgina Gardner-Stockley, Alice Little and Tom Frost were in the top age group, the 16s.

They claimed one gold, two silver, one bronze and one fifth place from five events.
