STEVE Andrews was man of the match when Ellesmere Port British Legion AC fished on the Tarvin Sands Fishery.
Andrews weighed in with a carp-based 50-4-0 to beat Robbie King with likewise for 29-10-0 and Joe Grieves (27-6-0).
Bill Jones of Ellesmere Port made a successful visit to fish on the Meadow Fishery, taking a 5-0-0 rainbow in his catch which fell to a black buzzer.
Jason Connah won the Rivacre AC match on the River Weaver at Meadowbank. His catch of tench up to the 2-0-0 mark gave him 8-8-0 and a lead over Dougie Walsh (4-7-0) and Billy Gore (3-4-0).
Barry Davies was top rod in the Neston Match Anglers contest on the Milton Green Fishery, taking carp to weigh 36-0-0.
Paul Fletcher of Ellesmere Port had plenty of joy on the Harthill Fishery last week. His catch for the day included eight carp between 6-0-0 and 14-0-0, all taken to a dog biscuit.
John Rice of Ellesmere Port made a worthwhile trip to fish on Llandegla Fishery, his catch including a 7-0-0 rainbow which fell to a buzzer.
