FORMER Potter Garry Stead has become the fourth rider pencilled in to the Stoke 2007 line-up.
Stead, who started his racing career at Loomer Road in 1990, joins Rusty Harrison, Jack Hargreaves and Ben Barker in a new-look Potters line-up.
Promoter Dave Tattum said: 'We're really pleased with the way things are going and Steady will be a very good signing for us, I'm quite sure of that.
'He's got bags of experience, but what makes him so dependable is his consistency.
'His figures home and away are generally good and that is one of the reasons why we used him so often as a guest and why he has been in my team-building thoughts for a number of seasons.'
Stead comes in on loan from Sheffield and rode for Workington last season. 'This is a very good move for me and, who knows, Stoke is where I started and it could be where I finish.
'I'm not one for moving around. I had seven seasons with Hull before it closed and like to put roots down, so who knows.
'Stoke seem to be putting a solid side together and hopefully we can bring in a bit of success for the club and the supporters.
'I don't know too much about Ben and Jack other than they have good reputations, but I rode with Rusty last season and rate him highly.
'I'm sure the rest of the side will fit together and I'm looking forward to wearing a Stoke body colour again.'
* Supporters are reminded that Stoke Potters season tickets are on sale at a discounted price prior to Christmas. They are £240 adults, £145 senior citizen and £85 juniors.
