KARTING: Tarporley High School's karting team started the NatSKA schools 2006 season with some excellent results at Camberley on Saturday.
Despite the 4am wake-up call, Tarporley drivers proved they were still able to perform after the winter break.
Tarporley drivers completely out-drove their opponents in class 14 (85cc Rackets) by taking the first six places.
Driver of the day Will Redman followed up his fourth place at the National Championships in the summer by winning all his first three heats to become class winner.
James Warner, winner of the last heat of the day after two second places, took runners up spot from Richard Parkin in third, Richard Pover in fourth, Harry Heath, fifth, and Nicky Percival, sixth.
The class 7 (TKM's) drivers were not to be outshone, with two Tarporley drivers in the top-four places from a grid of 15. Tom Oliphant won three heats to take first place on the podium and was closely followed by Peter Cain in fourth.
In the junior four strokes (class 11) section, Oliver Redman claimed second place just ahead of Ben McLoughlin in third. For further information go to www.tarporleykarting.co.uk or for sponsorship details contact Andrew Parkin on 01829 260420 or 01829 730164.
