AMATEUR BOXING: Robert Crewe returns to action after a lengthy lay-off on Monday.

The Widnes teenager will be in front of home town fans for his first senior bout.

Warrington's Phoenix Olympic Boxing Centre return to St Basil's Club in Hough Green, after a successful December debut.

Tickets priced £8 for adults and £5 concessions will be available on the door from 7pm for an 8pm start.

Crewe, who celebrates his 18th birthday three days after the three-round contest, faces Southport's Adam Brocklebank. The 6ft 3in middleweight Crewe returned to training after Christmas following niggling injuries and illness.

Crewe will be joined on the card by 27-year-old Liam Kavanagh, who faces an intriguing return four-rounder against Daniel Angus, 26, from the Salisbury club in Liverpool.

When they met earlier this year, light-welterweight Kavanagh was five points ahead in the second round, when he was accidentally cut by an opposing elbow and was pulled out as a precaution by his cornerman Damian Ridpath.
