SPORTS AWARDS: CHESHIRE sporting stars will be honoured later this year in a star-studded awards night - and organ-isers Sport Cheshire are asking Chronicle readers to nominate your heroes.
The Shell Partnership Sports Awards will highlight the commitments and successes of Cheshire's sporting stars, be they players, coaches, volunteers or officials.
The event is being held at Mere Golf and Country Club, near Knutsford, on October 3.
Organisers Sport Cheshire, are inviting Chronicle readers to nominate individuals or teams who they feel would be worthy winners of any of the following awards:
Young Sports Achiever of the Year, Volunteer of the Year, Official of the Year, Community Club of the Year, Coach of the Year and the Peter Moore Special Recognition Award.
Winners of the Community Club Award will be automatically nominated for the North West Sports Awards which are to be held later in the year.

A host of dignitaries, VIPs and celebrities are lined up to attend the event.
In addition to the presentation of awards, guests will enjoy a five-star buffet and can expect to be entertained by video messages from some of sports biggest superstars, plus live music performances on the stage.
Tickets are available from www.sportcheshire.org priced at £17.50 per head or £150 for a table of 10.
