HOCKEY players from The King’s School have captured a district title.

The school’s under 13s girls team won the indoor Chester & District tournament.

King’s started with a tough draw against Abbey Gate College, then went on to win matches against The Queen’s School and Upton High, finishing top of their group.

King’s then faced Tarporley High in the semi-final, showing true determination to come back from 1-0 down to win 2-1.

In the final they came through a tough game against Bishop Heber, winning 1-0.

The title was secured thanks to a great all-round team performance by the squad, which comprised: Emily Cartwright, 12, of Great Sutton; Abigail Fisher, 13, of Chester; Megan Gareh, 12, of Wrexham; Annie Powell, 13, of Chester; Jessica Lee, 12, of Wrexham; Anna Lloyd, 13, of Nannerch; Olivia Wade-Jones, 12, of Wrexham; Amicia Crewe-Read 12, of Marton; and Bethan Pode, 12, of Kingswood.
