THREE Chester Queen’s School pupils are achieving success in three very different sports.
While Stephanie Blackwell has been excelling in athletics, Helen King is making promising progress as a women’s footballer and Sophie Clough has been picked to play hockey for her country.
Stephanie, 16, competed for Cheshire at the English Schools Championships in July, finishing fourth in the 300m hurdles final and sixth in the 4x100m relay.
She went on to represent the North West of England at the UK School Games in August, where she clocked a personal best time of 45.27 seconds in the 300m hurdles final and claimed relay bronze.
Helen, meanwhile, is a rising soccer star for Tranmere Roves Ladies. The 16- year-old has progressed through the Wirral club’s development squads and now plays for their first team in the Northern Division of the Premier Women’s League.
Sophie, 15, successfully trialled for the Wales hockey squad and represented her nation’s under 21s in a match against Scotland.
