TO celebrate its golden anniversary, Christleton High School is commissioning an honours board to record the names of every pupil who has represented their country in sport.

Head of sport Stef Fisher is appealing for all those pupils – or people who know of former pupils’ sporting exploits – to contact him to make sure no-one is missed out.

He said: “We would hate to compile this list and find we had accidentally omitted someone.

“That is why we make this appeal. Whether you represented Great Britain, England, or any other nation, at school or afterwards, we want to hear from you.”

So far, the list includes British cross country runner Charlotte Roach, who is still hopeful of qualifying for the 2012 Olympics, footballers Eddie Johnson (Bradford City and England Youth), Callum Hawthorne (Swansea City and Wales Youth), Kristian Rodgers (England Schoolboys), tennis player Mark Hilton, who turned out at Wimbledon, and gymnastic sisters Madeline and Claudia Williams (Wales).

Mr Fisher added: “My intention is also to publish a book featuring all the former pupils who have earned international honours.

“It should be a fitting way to mark the school’s 50th anniversary.”

If you attended Christleton and have been selected for international honours at any stage, or if you know of someone who has, contact Mr Fisher on 01244 335843 (extension 3030) or e-mail
