A STRING of quick times made medals difficult to pick up in the latest meeting of West Cheshire AC’s Schools’ Cross Country Race Series.

Ellen McMahon (Upton High) grabbed a winning time of 13 min 35 sec in the Year 7 girls race, ahead of Emily Wood (Bishops’) in 13:46 and third-placed Sally Pickering (Whitby) in 13:56.

Amy Williams (Abbey Gate) produced an impressive Year 6 girls victory to post 10:05, ahead of Tess Corr (Oldfield) in 10:35 and Ffion Douglas (Farndon) in 10:39.

Cora Finlay (St Saviour’s) clocked a winning time of 7:59 in the Year 5 girls race with silver medallist Rachel Barrett (Thomas Wedge) running 8:05 and Dominika Sadczuk (St Saviour’s) 8:15.

Farndon’s Jessica Thomas posted 5:54 for victory in the Year 4 girls race. Behind her was Ella Robson (Thomas Wedge) in 7:38.

Toby Palin (11:02) and Seb Dunn (11:13) made it a one-two for Christleton High in the Year 7 boys race, ahead of third placed Chris McCartney (Queen’s Park High) in 11:45.

Farndon made it a one-two in the Year 6 boys race, with Thomas Milburn (9:13) beating Matthew Tuite (9:15) and Matthew Waters (Eaton) in 9:27.

Mark Latham (Eaton) won the Year 5 boys race in 6:46, followed by Elijah Montez-Brown (St Saviour’s) with 6:56, and Josh Boothman (Farndon) in 7:20.

Matthew Garner (Acresfield) won the Year 4 boys race in 6:15, just two seconds clear of runner-up Henry Eddleston (Farndon), with Sam Young (Eaton) in third spot with 6:25.
