STEVE Crowe picked up the men’s overall title after winning the four-round Wirral Multi-Terrain Race Series.

Fresh from setting a new club record in the Sutton Six 10k and having won every series race he competed in this year, the Ellesmere Port Running Club ace won the final 4.5-mile trek around Arrowe Park in a time of 24 minutes and 44 seconds.

The honours didn’t stop there for EPRC as Alison Hughes won the ladies under 40 category and an impressive series by Ian Cooper saw him take second in the men’s over 40 age group.

Jon Cole came eighth overall in the men’s U40 category and Denis Duret worked hard for an impressive seventh in the men’s O40 category.

Nicky Bird was 11th in the ladies U40 category, with Alison MacDonald coming fourth in the ladies O40 category

Paul Price was West Cheshire AC’s highest overall finisher, third in the O50s after finishing 42nd in 29:09.

Paul finished ahead of fellow O50 veteran Chris Rhodes, who completed the series in eighth position and Richard Batterham who was 25th place in the same age category.

Brian Hastings completed the O60s series in sixth position, just two places ahead of Dave Hough.

Andrew Clague claimed sixth place in the O40 men's age group after finishing in 10th in a time of 26:10.

Louis Humphreys, who finished two of the four rounds, secured 14th position in the U20 men’s age group.

Sacha Kendall-Woods was 12th overall in the U40s women’s event after completing the ladies race in 31st position with a time of 36:09.

EPRC’s men’s team of Crowe, Cooper and Chris Marshall came third overall in the team event, their ladies team of Bird, MacDonald and Alison Hughes were seventh.

West Cheshire AC’s men finished seventh overall.
