PLAYERS from an Aviva Premiership rugby club paid a visit to Ellesmere Port.

Sale Sharks duo Marc Jones and Jordan Davies travelled to Whitby Sports and Social Club last Tuesday to hold a training session at Ellesmere Port RUFC.

The players spent time going around each of the club’s teams from all age groups, giving tips and advice to all.

The session was followed by a question-and-answer session in the clubhouse.

Ellesmere Port RUFC’s junior chairman Mark Davies said: “Once again, through our relationship with Sale Sharks we have been given the opportunity to inspire young players through meeting and chatting to players who are at the top of their game.

“It was a fantastic opportunity for the youth teams to learn and understand what it takes to reach that level and also to reinforce the ethos of rugby at all levels.”

Sale Sharks kindly donated two tickets for their match against London Welsh on September 21. They were won in a raffle by Phil Croft, one of the club’s under 11s coaches.

Ellesmere Port RUFC has teams for most age groups, from under sevens through to senior level. Anyone wishing to join should visit the club’s website: www.pitchero.com/clubs/ellesmereport.
