ELLESMERE Port Rugby Club’s under 10s team clocked up a magnificent seven victories on their way to winning the Mold Festival.

Teams from North Wales and the north west descended on Flintshire for the minis tournament – and none of them had the beating of Ellesmere Port.

The boys came through their pool matches unscathed after wins over Rhyl (3-1), Wrexham (2-0), Nant Conwy (3-1), Colwyn Bay (1-0) and Whitchurch (1-0).

Having topped their group, there was no time for any rest as Port were pitched straight into a semi-final against Bangor – which they won 2-1.

The final saw the Port take on Mold and they finished on a high, beating the host club 1-0 thanks to a Will Titherington try.

Port’s 16-strong squad comprised: Matt Baldwin, Aiden Carroll, George Chong, Sam Daniels-Jones, Mickey Dunne, Rory Harrison, Lewis Jones, Elston Kavanagh, Connor McCulloch, Shaun Norman, Alex Owen, John Pullinger, Joe Suckley, Will Titherington, Lucas Titherington and Darragh Ward.
