GROSVENOR Rowing Club crews were to the fore at the Northwich Spring Head, winning in all three divisions.

The race, staged on a 2,350m course on the River Weaver, took place on Sunday and featured entries from all over the region.

Grosvenor’s veteran women’s squad took the first win of the day, with Di Moore claiming the women’s Masters single sculls in great style.

Grosvenor’s veteran men than had a storming second division with success for the Masters D eight of Paul Larby, Steve Walker, Brian Chapman, Colin Morris, Mike Allwood, Jeremy Perkins, Jeremy Lush, Tim Howe and cox Alan Hardman.

Success continued for the Grosvenor squad into the third division with the Masters C four of Pete Abbott, Jerry Poupard, Jeremy Perkins and Paul Larby bringing home the medals.

Both the men’s and women’s novice squads were also out in force, with two Novice Men’s eights and a Novice Women’s four. Both squads had solid races.

Rob Mulvaney, Jon Allan, Stuart McCartney and John Worden put in an amazing effort, despite only being out on the water three times having one of Grosvenor’s popular Learn to Row courses two weeks prior to the event.
