RED Admiral and Albion reached the Runcorn Apec Taxis Darts League Knockout Cup Final with emphatic victories.

Section Two champions Addy turned in a fine performance for an 8-1 defeat of Section One's Lion Doo Waps.

Jason Watkins led the way, finishing in 17 darts and team mate Neil Riley followed up with an 18-darter, including a 101 finish.

The Doo Waps' only winner, Fran Riley recorded an 18-dart game.

Albion's 7-2 win over Section Four champions Grapes included a 14 darter from Nick Hough and a 19-dart finish from Phil Littler.

Preliminary rounds in the Town Championship play-offs and the Executive Competition had been played the previous night, although the latter competition required only one match to be staged.

The Town Championship ties went mainly to form.

Albion's 6-3 against RNA included a 17-dart game from Phil Littler.

Roundhouse also defeated Burma by a similar scoreline, helped by an 18-dart game from Paul Watson which included a maximum.

Quayside and Tranny Rovers renewed their battles and this time the latter ran out 5-4 winners.

First rounds in the Town Championship and Executive Competition are tonight with the second rounds of both competitions following tomorrow.

Draws for the semi-finals will be made this Sunday at the Navigation Inn (12.30pm) with these ties being played a week tonight.
