BOXING: TOP promoter Barry Hearn has Robin Reid in his sights as the next opponent for Brian Magee, after the Ulsterman's seventh successful defence of the IBO super-middleweight championship.
Magee picked himself up off the floor in the first round to defeat tough Nigerian Jerry Elliott by a unanimous decision at King's Hall in Belfast on Saturday.
Now Hearn is hoping to persuade Runcorn's 33-year-old Reaperman to accept a summer showdown with Magee at the same venue.
Hearn said:'I don't have any plan B, only a plan A, and that is a fight between Brian and Robin Reid back at the King's Hall.
'It's a big fight in which both fighters have everything to gain.
'I think Brian will have learned a lot from that fight. He will know a little bit more of what boxing at the top level is all about.'
