IAN Rea was the Carlsberg UK Open League's top marksman as his 14-darter helped British Lion A to a vital win in Division One.

Rea added an 18-dart leg, concluded with a 126 checkout, in a stunning personal display which helped his side knock Hop Pole off top spot in a 5-3 success. The Pole's Andy Knapper powered a 15-darter with a 134 kill, and also hit a 117 finish, but to no avail. Amalgamated A are now top after their 6-2 defeat of their B team.

Also in Division One, Mick Jones (Amals B) and Rob Challinor (Dishers) hit respective 18 and 19-dart legs. Dave Coyne got a 140 checkout, and Anthony Harper hit a 106 finish, for Bridge A.

John Hassall (Amals B) won with 110 and 111 checkouts, while maximums were hit by Dishers duo John Ledley and Pete Challinor, Lee Brown (Crown) and Clive Lucking (Hop Pole).

Premier Division leaders Pioneers Club retained their unblemished record with a 6-2 defeat of lowly Belle Vue. Delamere beat Vine A 5-3 and the pair now share second spot.

Mark Peake hit a 16-dart leg for Rockwood and teammate Chris Owens got an 18 darter, a 126 checkout and a 180.

But opponents Flying Lady A responded with 180s from Tony Pogonowski and Lee Griffiths, who went on to bag a 19-dart win, as they fought back to draw 4-4.

Dan Smith (Raven A) hit a 17-dart leg and Hawk pair Pete Galloway and Dean Harrison respective 18 and 19 darters. Mark Jodrill (Commercial) won with a 120 checkout and Graham Arrowsmith (Delamere) and Ricky Busteed (Pioneers Club) registered 180s.

Division Two pacemakers Cheshire Cheese won 5-3 at Coppenhall Leighton, but Horse Shoe closed in with a 6-2 defeat of strugglers Nags Head B.

Division Three toppers Queen's Park GC lost 5-3 to Cosey Club in a re-arranged match, but defeated Brunel 5-3. Phil Watts (Vine C) won in 20 darts and Lee Felton (Sydney Arms) hit a ton finish.

Division Four's runaway leaders LMR Sports Club B are 11 points clear after their 7-1 drubbing of Grand Junction. Andrew Hulse fired a 94 checkout to help White Lion (Copp) B claim a 6-2 win at Liberal C.

Pete Bradshaw Jnr hit an 18-darter for Vine B as they beat Division Five toppers Prince of Wales 5-3. Tracey Markwick (Prince) hit an 18-darter, while Rob Paine (West End Band A) notched a 180.

In dominoes, Premier Dominoes pacemakers beat Vine A 6-2 to move three points clear of Hawk.

Division One's unbeaten leaders British Lion A and main challengers Nantwich Road Club beat Hop Pole and Bridge A by 5-3 scorelines.

Kings Arms A are now top of Division Two snatching a draw with their B team, while Division Three is the most keenly contested with five points covering the top six teams.

In Division Four Foresters beat Broughton Arms 5-3 to take sole charge of the leadership, while Division Five leaders Royal Scot recovered from 4-2 down to draw at White Lion (Ford Lane).
