HOCKEY: DEESIDE Ramblers created club history on Saturday when they fielded TWO father-and-son pairings in the same match.

Neil and Ben Lamont and Mark and Will Whittaker turned out for the Tarporley club's second team in their 3-3 draw with Preston.

Amazingly, three of them scored, with Neil Lamont and both Whittakers on target!

Deeside's first team turned in an excellent performance at high-flying Manchester but could not prevent a 3-2 defeat.

The visitors often looked like the side most likely to win and their goals were scored by Phil Johnson and Graham Dick.

Ramblers' third team lost 4-2 at Carlisle. Phil Brown netted their goals.

Deeside Ramblers Ladies drew 2-2 at home to league leaders Springfields.

Jill Delaney put Ramblers 1-0 up on five minutes and, although Springfields equalised, Becks Clarke restored her team's one-goal advantage.

As Springfields upped the pressure late on, they rescued a point with a goal in the final 10 minutes.
