The school's swimming team competed in the north west round of the ESSA National Relay Championships at Everton Park, Liverpool, where they won both the medley and freestyle relay event and will now represent the region in the national finals in Sheffield in June.

The achievement comes after the Queen’s under 11 and U10 swim teams dominated the medals at the AJIS Swimming gala after a number of impressive displays.

The gala which was held at Darwen Sports Centre in Lancashire was attended by nearly 300 swimmers from 16 different schools acrosss the region.

The Queen’s team enjoyed a medal haul that included seven golds, two silvers and three bronzes while there were also three new records set in the pool

Headmistress Rachel Cookson said: “The girls have been training hard in the pool and their practice showed.

“They kept calm, did what they knew they had to and were ultimately victorious against some stiff competition. I am immensely proud of them all.”
