QUEEN'S Park High School Rowing Club won six events on a very crowded programme at the Mersey-side Victoria Regatta.

Although the day was fine, the strong cross-wind caused steering problems for rowers on the 500m course.

Kate Pilling and Amy Jones (WJ14 doubles) survived a collision in the semi-finals and went on to win.

The other WJ14 pair Bridget Collin and Alice Walton, came third.

Chris Thomas and Joe Rowland in the boys' J14 double rowed very strongly throughout the three heats and won their final easily.

Chris was also a convincing winner in the J14 singles.

The WJ14 quad, with Bridget Collin, Amy Jones, Alice Walton, Rose Butters and cox Kate Pilling, lost to the eventual winners in the semi-finals but went on to claim third.

The boys' J14 quad - comprising Chris Thomas, Joe Rowland, Tom Young, Ozzie Ghobadi and cox Molly O'Brien Malley - were clear winners in their heats and final.

The WJ13 double of Caroline Withers and Leah Morrow won their final with clubmates Leigh Horan and Katie Goff second.

The WJ13A quad, featuring Leah Morrow, Caroline Wither, Emma Clark, Joy Roberts and cox Sam Young, took on a boys crew in the finals and were leading until the last 20m. They received a medal for their performance.

The WJ13B quad of Katie Goff, Leigh Horan, Nadia Bakir, Emily Stuttard and cox Tara Homayounbod came third.
