SQUASH: With only one of their professionals available, Chester RUFC's first team went down to Grove Park.

The night did not start well for Chester as Cheshire players Nathan Langley and Liam Foster beat Chester's Henry Smit and Jonathan Davies, both 3-1 with relative ease.

Chester's two old stagers Nick Gatward and Jonathan Clark faced the two top Durham and Cleveland professionals Yawar Abbas and Gareth Lunsden respectively. Gatward took the first game off Abbas but Abbas's fitness and young legs proved too much and he eased through the next three games.

Clark defeated Lunsden 3-0 to get Chester on the board. Chester's professional Jethro Binns also made short work of Yorkshire professional Robbie Temple, winning 3-0 to make the final score 3-2.

Chester's second team were always going to be up against it against David Lloyd Manchester and so it proved.

They lost 5-0 with the only bright spot being Drew Williams' 3-2 defeat to Becky Botwright.
