TWO Albion players, together with Stuart Bousfield (Red Admiral) and Steve Allan (Tranny Lads), have made it through to the last four of the Individual Competition in the Runcorn Apec Taxis Darts Lea gue.

The last 32 in the contest played down to the semi-final stages on Friday night and Bousfield produced games of 15 and 16 darts, plus two 17-dart games.

Allan scored a maximum and Albion team-mates Nick Hough and Paul Melia also maintained a similarly high standard. Hough scored two maximums and completed games of 16 and 18 darts while Melia also registered a 16-dart game.

There were more good scores - Mike O'Dwyer (Roundhouse), Jerry Burke (Clarry B) and Steve Whitfield (Halfway A) also hit maximums and Ian Darlington (Navvy) produced a 16-darter. Steve Roberts (Halfway A) had an 18-darter and a 01 finish and John Kilkenny (Albion) had a 19-dart game.

The previous night's semi-finals in the Section One part of the Committee Challenge Cup produced a shock for Albion who went down 6-3 to Halfway Gents. Best for the winners were 16-dart games from Anthony Hall and John Whitfield, with the latter also recording a 130 finish.

In the other semi-final, Navvy's 6-3 victory over Roundhouse included 15-dart games from Neil Ward and Kevin Jones.

In the Section Two stage of the Challenge Cup, Paul Walsh finished in 13 darts and team-mate Rob Law produced a 108 finish to help Tricorn towards a 6-3 win over Halton Marauders. Wayne Conway had a 14-dart game in helping Halfway Mixed to a 7-2 win over Wanderers.

Dave Schofield (Fiddlers Three) recorded a score of 177 but his team went down 5-4 in their section three semi-final against Prospect Has Beens. In the final, the latter will now face Section Three champions Welly who defeated Total Confusion 6-3.

Section Four champions Tranny Rovers booked their place in the final with a 5-4 win over Raven and will now meet Bennetts Boys who gained a comprehensive 8-1 victory over Nil Points.

Second rounds of both the Town Championship and the Executive Competition will be played tonight (Thursday) followed tomorrow night by the second round of the Doubles Competition.

* This Saturday is the closing date for registrations for the 2007 Summer League and league officials will be on hand to receive these at the Navigation Inn between 7.30 and 10pm. Teams holding trophies from the 2005-2006 Winter League should return these when registering their teams.

* Semi-finals of both the Town Championship and Executive Competition will take place next T hursday.
