CHESTER rider Kevin Phillips is gearing up for the Manx Grand Prix next month.

CHESTER rider Kevin Phillips is gearing up for the Manx Grand Prix next month.

Making his first appearance on the Isle of Man mountain circuit, he will take part in the newcomers' and senior events on a 600 Honda.

Kevin has been racing at club level for a number of years and has a national licence.

He has been brought up with motorcycle racing, as his dad Ian also raced and his mother's uncle, Allen Steele, is a previous Manx GP winner.

Allen also held the lap record for the 250cc class in 1970.
