MATTHEW Langridge has won his second World Cup gold medal.

The 24-year-old Northwich oarsman was in a composite British eight which swept to victory in the Amsterdam World Cup at the weekend.

He won his first gold medal in the competition in Austria earlier this month with his pairs crewmate Colin Smith.

Both men were in the triumphant eight which beat China and Britain's first choice crew into second and third places.

Meanwhile, Northwich double scullers Jamie Leighton and Matt Jump contested Marlow Regatta at Dorney Lake.

They finished fourth in their heat and fourth again in the repechage, rowed during a thunderstorm, and did not qualify.

The duo are at Henley Regatta next week.
