THERE is just no getting the better of the under 13s netball team from The King’s School.

Following an unbeaten season, the girls went to the Cheshire county netball tournament – and won.

In the group stage, King’s faced tough opponents which included both of last year’s finalists.

Having beaten Bishops’ High 10-2, Lymm 9-3, strong netball school Fallibroome 10-5 and last year’s winners Bridgewater 8-2, King’s faced their toughest opponents in the group stage – King’s Macclesfield.

The Chester girls were 6-3 down at half time but fought back to win 11-7, before booking their semi-final place with an 8-2 success over The Grange.

The semi-finals saw Fallibroome beat Christleton 9-5 and King’s beat Wilmslow 12-5, setting up an exciting final.

Despite going 5-3 down, King’s recovered to make it 8-8 by full time – and won the golden goal finale thanks to a score from Annie Powell.

The victorious squad is Emily Cartwright, 13, of Great Sutton; Sophie Cliff, 13, of Chester; Emily Cresswell, 13, of Chester; Eloise Dooley, 13, of Pulford; captain Abigail Fisher, 13, of Chester; Megan Gareh, 13, of Wrexham; Natasha Groome, 13, of Wrexham; Jessica Lee, 12, of Wrexham; Chloe Morgan, 13, of Mold; and Powell, 13, of Chester.
