JENNY Tinmouth could not contain her delight after she completed a British Superbike Championship race for the first time in her career.
The 33-year-old from Ellesmere Port finished 26th and then 27th at Thruxton on Sunday.
Tinmouth, the Isle of Man TT female lap record holder, said: “Really chuffed with today, I know I was tail-end Charlie but I finished two Superbike races! Mega chuffed with that.”
Tinmouth parted company with Splitlath Motorsport after just one race – which she failed to complete – in last year’s British Superbike Championship.
She has returned this season with the support of key sponsors Hardinge Machine Tools and sorrymate.com and her place of work, the Two Wheel Workshop on the Westminster Industrial Park in Ellesmere Port.
Tinmouth will return to British Superbikes action over the May bank holiday weekend at her home track Oulton Park.
