WAYNE Moore triumphed in the Rivacre AC match on the meadow pool at Heronbrook Fishery.

Carp weighing 53-8-0 won the day for him, with Bob Thelwell in second with 51-0-0 and Peter Walsh (50-4-0) third.

George Roberts and son Nick took the top two spots in the Ellesmere Port British Legion AC match on the Meriden Canal at the Border Fishery. A 21-14-0 weight of carp and barbel gave George the win with Nick taking 21-10-0. Jimmy Crimes was third with 12-4-0.

Danny Boothroyd was the winner of the Lobol AC Wednesday evening match on the priory pool. A 6-0-0 common carp helped him to 21-3-0, beating John McCully's 12-0-0 and Dave Wilcocks's 8-3-0.

Ellesmere Port anglers continue to dominate the Chester and Ellesmere Port Police AC matches.

The latest, on the beech pool at Burton Mere Fishery, went to Alan Roberts with carp and skimmers weighing 49-12-0. Mark Greasley came in with 38-0-0 and Neil Jukes with 27-0-0.

Neston Match Anglers' meeting at Milton Green Fishery failed to produce any big hauls. Colin Davies won with a small 5-0-0 carp with second going to John Sturgess (0-0-4).

Tony Churchill eased to a win in the Willaston AC open match on the Shropshire Union Canal at Beeston with 40-9-8. Second went to Trevor Jackson with bream and roach for 12-10-0 and Chris Morris was third with 10-14-0.

The club is running an open match on Sunday at Waverton. It will take place on the Shropshire Union Canal and will be drawn in the lay-by at 8.30am. Entry is £10. Blood-worm and jokers are banned. To book, call 0151 606 8315.

Dave Woodworth won both matches at Lingmere Fishery. He took the Thursday match with 89-12-0, beating Steve Openshaw into second on 74-8-0 and Steve Balsom into third with 60-0-0.

Woodworth then placed 74-14-0 on the scales to claim the Saturday match, Steve Balsom coming second this time with 48-14-0 and Phil Ash-down third on 42-9-0.

Castrol SAS indulged on a spot of wreck fishing in St Georges Channel aboard the Morgan James.

Top rod was John Coppell with a 12-0-0 pollock. Norman Cooper and Harry Brit were next best, each with a 10-0-0 pollock.
