A talented figure skater from Ellesmere Port will compete in Croatia this evening as part of Team GB.

Molly Robotham, 11, flew out to Zagreb yesterday (November 19) to take part in the ISU (International Skating Union) Golden Bear competition.

The youngster, a British Championship skater and pupil at Whitby High School, trains at Deeside Ice Skating Club.

Molly’s mum, Melanie Robotham said: “We are all very proud of her and how her hard work and dedication is now paying off.”

Earlier this year she took part in a fundraiser for Clatterbridge Cancer Charity at the Deeside club in memory of her nan Jeanette Perdergast, who died of lung cancer last year, aged just 57.

Molly started skating at Deeside Leisure Centre at the age of just three years old and started competing one year later.

A year later she impressed world champions Jayne Torvill and Christopher Dean on the on ITV show Dancing on Ice: Ice Stars.
