WESTMINSTER Park Lions and Waverton wrestled each other all the way in an Under 11s thriller.

Visitors Waverton took home a 5-4 win after the Lions missed two penalties. Ben Beadles, Scott Rad-ford, Dean Goring and Curtis Clark all scored for the Lions but could not match a Matt McClelland brace and strikes from Ed Behan, Matty Hulse and Jack Gittins. Dean Goring took the Lions MoM.

Nothing could separate Upton JFC Blues and Blacon Youth as they drew in a 10-goal thriller. Callum Berry, Danny Evans and Harrison Vare netted for the Blues along with two from Thomas Me-sham and were matched by Jack Evans, Bradley Joinson, Alex Roddy and a brace from Thomas Peters. MoM went to Toby Venables.

Saughall took a 1-0 win against visitors Castrol Celtic through Luke Munday. Osian Gillette was MoM.

A very strong Malpas and District team took a nine-goal haul on a visit to Westminster Park Warriors in the U12s.

Charlie Horrocks bagged seven, but Warriors managed a late consolation goal. Warriors MoM was Elliot Hamilton-Kent.

Bretton Super Saints also got a convincing away win, beating Westminster Park Wanderers 8-1.

Luck was again against the hosts when Vicars Cross lost 5-0 to Saughall Colts. Saughall scorers were Guy Byrne and Jamie Blythin, with Adam Thorley's hat-trick earning him MoM.

Pulford fought hard to beat Waverton Wasps 2-1. Harry Yeoward had a shot well saved with the rebound tapped in by Ed Williamson, before Andrew Lewis levelled after the break.

After a series of goalline scrambles, Pulford won the tough midfield battle through Sam Powell with two minutes to go. Jack Stirrup and James Mottershead both clinched MoM.
