MOTOR SPORT: TWO knights of motorsport will be joining in a special birthday party at Oulton Park later this month.

Sir Jackie Stewart and Sir Stirling Moss will be at the Cheshire circuit on Bank Holiday Monday, August 25, to celebrate 50 years of racing at the circuit.

Sir Jackie will formally open the superb new race control, media centre and pits facility at the circuit. There'll be a moment of nostalgia when he is reunited with Tyrrell 001, the Formula One car that cemented his relationship with Ken Tyrrell, the man who guided him to his second and third world championships.

Sir Jackie, three-times Fomula One World Champion, won the prestigious Gold Cup at Oulton Park in 1968, with his winner's trophy being presented to him by the great Juan Manuel Fangio.

Sir Stirling won the Gold Cup five times, more than any other driver in the history of the race.

The Gold Cup event presents two days of the very best in historic racing, plus around 500 beautifully prepared and presented historic cars on display - an outstanding opportunity to get up close and personal with the very best of racing machinery, representing 50 golden years of racing at Oulton Park.
