SWIMMING: Katie Holmes is home and dry after taking double gold with fantastic swims in the Cheshire County Championships at Macclesfield.
The 16-year-old spearheaded Halton Swimming Club's efforts with junior and senior 100m breaststroke titles.
Holmes set a new junior county record time of 1:15, and she bettered this with a senior National Qualifying Time of 1:13 on her way to the senior title.
Katie Scutt, 13, joined her team-mate on the podium after finishing third in the senior event and taking gold at her age group.
Another NQ time came the way of 17-year-old Sarah Louise Banner who stormed to the senior championship title at 50m freestyle in a great time of 27.6 seconds.
William Warburton set a new club record of 54 secs in the 100m freestyle to take the16-year age group and junior titles before following up with the 100m butterfly title.

As the medal tally grew, Lucy Myler took a silver for 50m butterfly and bronze at 100m backstroke. Louise Wallbank showed a return to form to take bronze in the 15 years' 100m backstroke while Ellie Newby battled hard for bronze in a tough 200m butterfly.
Martin Bossom broke the minute mark at 100m freestyle and joined team-mates Adam Owens, Chris Newby and Andrew Matthews in the age group finals for 100m butterfly.
Rebecca Reese and Sadie Smith reached 100m breaststroke finals in their first attempts at this level and Ashley Holmes smashed her personal-best time to reach the final in the 12-years age group.
James Flagherty finished fifth at 200m breaststroke while Stephen Bailey and Jack Steele set new PBs in 100m butterfly.
