MARTIAL ARTS: CHESTER teenager Amy Truesdale became a double British tae kwon-do champion in Coventry last week.

A member of the Richard Saunders Schools of Tae Kwon-do 17-year-old Amy, who lives in Hoole, took the titles in pattern and sparring.

Other gold medals went to 12-year-old John Windrum, of East-ham (forms), 10-year-old Cameron Young, of Eastham (sparring) and Bryan Chatten also of Eastham (destruction).

There were bronze medals for 14-year-old Amy Mitchell, of East-ham, nine-year-old Kate Burrows, of Bebington, 42-year-old Gary Bates, of Eastham, and instructor Richard Saunders, of Bromborough, all in sparring.

Said Saunders: 'The students all performed well and I am pleased with all the awards. Once again we proved that students from the area can compete and beat fellow tae kwon-do practitioners from all over the country.'
