Hope Farm Rangers U10s 1 Hope Farm Hotspurs U10s 2

A LATE goal by Joe Fitzpatrick settled a fast and furious derby in Hotspurs’ favour.

Rangers had started well, putting Hotspurs on the back foot and going 1-0 up thanks to an own goal.

Hotspurs attempted to fight back, but they could not find a way past Rangers’ in-form goalkeeper Charlie Jones and centre-half Nathan McGuirk.

In the second half, Hotspurs finally managed to break through their rivals’ defence as a fine cross by man-of-the-match Mike Ellis allowed George Patchet to score from close range.

Buoyed by their equaliser, Hotspurs pushed on and Fitzpatrick scored their winner with five minutes remaining.

Rangers’ MoM was keeper Ellis and he was voted player of the day by both managers.

Hope Farm JFC are on the look-out for new players to form both an under 8s and U9s team for next season.
