TABLE TENNIS: JOSH Bleakley gave it his best shot in Halton Table Tennis Club A's title-winning National Junior League's season.
The Under-18s team won North West Division South with an unbeaten 20-match record.
And Josh finished the number-one player in the division with a 100% success rate - the only youngster to register a perfect score.
His importance to the team was under-lined on the final weekend when he was unavailable to play. Halton A were twice held to two draws but they still emerged with a highly-impressive 18 wins from 20 matches.
Halton won the championship by 20 points and had the top three individual performers in the competition.
Behind Josh were Mark Roscaleer with 36 wins from 40 and Alastair Lindley (33 wins from 40).
David Bond stepped into the first team for the last weekend, managing to win four out of 10.
Other teams in the division included A-string sides from Tameside, St Helens, Liverpool and Macclesfield plus Hillcourt B.
David's promotion to the A team did not prevent Halton B from sealing runners-up spot behind Burnage A in Division Three South.
The team included James Noon, Ian Johnson and nine-year-old Matthew McCormick.
In the National Cadet League's North-West Division, Halton A finished second to Wirral A.
The Halton League Championships are at Halton Stadium on Sunday.
