FIRST place went to John Archer in the Peg 1 AC match fished on pool four at the Cheshire Fishery.
His carp catch weighed 21-3-0, beating Jason Jones' 16-2-0 and 9-8-0 of silver fish from Sonny Cooper.
Luck was with Ellesmere Port's John Dawer at the woodland pool at Burton Mere Fishery. His catch of the day included a 17-0-0 catfish taken to luncheon meat bait.
Steve Openshaw bagged the double in the open matches at Lingmere Fishery. He won the Thursday match with 56-7-0 of carp, seeing off Paul Johnson with likewise for 36-10-0 and Dave Randles Snr with 35-3-0.
In the Saturday match, Open-shaw took carp for 74-0-0, more than Andy Amos with a mixed 58-14-0 and Dave Woodworth on 58-8-0.
Ellesmere Port's Dave Roberts won the midweek Offa's Dyke Fishery open match with all crucians weighing 10-2-0.
Fishing an open match at Hampton Springs Fishery, Willaston's Jamie Hughes struck lucky. On the meadow pool he took chub and barbel for 81-8-0 to win - and by drawing the golden peg he also took home £250.
Two members of Wirral Borough Council AC were up with the leaders in an open invitation at the Lathom Fishery in Burscough. Rick Keeley took second place with 38-0-0 of golden orfe and barbel and Colin WIlliams was third with 22-0-0 of the same.
