RUNCORN Jets' Bronco team did themselves every credit despite a 10-point defeat by Cartmel.

The visitors found inspiration from the glorious weather and surroundings to produce some of their best play of the season against one of the league's strongest teams.

After four innings, the scores were tied 6-6 with Craig scoring two runs while Jordan Warburton brought three runners home.

Rachel Sewell and Dean Jones and Jordan Turner also registered.

Ryan Slater Davis provided three excellent pitching innings and with solid fielding, a great catch from Turner and a double play from Robinson, a major upset looked possible.

However, with a change of pitcher from both sides, Cartmel regrouped.

While Jets got on base through the following two innings they failed to score any more runs.

Cartmel's aggressive stealing and a few wayward pitches brought the final score to 16-6.

Runcorn showed more signs of their true ability with every player giving 100%.

Next game is a double header at last year's Frank Caunce winners Manchester Saints, who are dominating this season, on Saturday, June 4.

The Jets would like to thank their Sponsor Rocksavage Power of Runcorn for all their help this season.
