SNOOKER: Widnes Rec's Mick Anderson rediscovered his old form while Overton Memorial Hall took an outright lead in Widnes and District Snooker League's Division One.
Anderson's superb 66 clearance in a 91-31 frame win was the individual highlight of the week's action - although his efforts came in a 5-4 losing cause at home to Ford A.
But it's Overton who are top of the table thanks to a 5-4 defeat of Farnworth A.
Geoff Brassington (80-43), Ste Spencer (79-41) and Chris Achilles (74-31) gave the Overton side an edge.
RAOB A are four points behind in second place despite destroying St Basil's A 8-1 with Shaun Cosgrove (82-49), Lee Thomas (75-39) and John Ratcliffe (65-41) taking the lead.
Village A, in third, were 7-2 winners over fourth-placed Corporation A.
Ste Millington (96-23), Mick King (72-30) and Adam Thompson (69-15) did the damage.
Division Two's Halton RBL (T Kerry 88-54, P Quinn 80-26) are in pole position after thrashing second-placed Farnworth B 8-1.
These are the only teams ahead of St Basil's B, whose 7-2 defeat of Hough Green SC B was engineered by P Summerfield's 108-19 rout.
Eccleston Lane Ends A had Jim Furbank (81-46) and Ste Barlow (73-38) showing their mettle in a 7-2 defeat of Fiddlers B which leaves the former at the head of Division Three affairs.
Chris Chapman (65-28) was the most proficient for third-placed Farnworth C who overcame Pavilions B 7-2.
United Services Club B top Division Four after a 7-2 victory over RAOB B while second-placed Mill Brow beat Conservative Club A 8-1.
Division Five's Oddfellows and Farnworth D were 5-4 winners over Birchfield and Widnes Rec respectively.
