BASKETBALL: CHESTER Wheelchair Jets continued their impressive run on Sunday with a 44-32 win over Liverpool Vikings at Darland Sports Centre, Rossett.

The result extended their winning streak to four games and leaves Tim Janvier's men with a 4-3 record and third in the table.

Vikings went into an early 6-2 lead but, with Chester showing offensive balance, all of the starting five scored to leave the Jets 11-6 up after the first 10 minutes.

The hosts built a 17-8 lead early in the second quarter, but Liverpool battled back and trailed 20-17 at half time.

Greater team work and improved ball movement on offence saw Jets recover from their mini blip in the second half.

From 31-23 at the end of the third period, the Vikings never got within more than eight points of the home side as they wrapped up the victory.

Andy Hickey and Pete Grime showed greater court awareness and offensive skill from outside, while Peter Barron and Billy Flanagan scored crucial baskets and controlled the Jets offence.

Forwards Anna Jackson, Caz Ballard and Dan Spencer read the game well at the back and battled hard all game.

Scorers: Peter Barron 10 points, Pete Grime nine, Billy Flanagan seven, Anna Jackson seven, Caroline Ballard five, Daniel Spencer four.

Jets aim to make it five wins in a row on Sunday when they go to Wigan.
