DEESIDE Ramblers kick-started their North League Premier Division season on Saturday.

Ramblers, who had drawn their opening game of the campaign, stormed to a 6-0 success at home to Sheffield University Bankers.

A close contest until half-time, the hosts ran riot after the break.

Tom Armitage – a product of the club’s highly successful youth set up – helped himself to four goals. Jonny Verity and Ali Ghazanfar were also on target.

The Ramblers’ next match is at Whitley Bay and Tynemouth on Saturday.

Deeside Ramblers Ladies won 5-1 at home to Newcastle University.

Ali Cheshire, Liz Tomlins (2), Beth Elleri and Rachel Dathan got the goals.
