DEESIDE Ramblers’ National League improvement continued on Saturday when they came from behind to beat Belper 2-1 and make it back-to-back Conference North wins.

The hosts opened the scoring and would have added to their lead had it not for Josh Parkinson’s heroics.

Inspired by their goalkeeper, the Ramblers fought back to claim the points with a penalty corner from the on-fire Ali Ghazanfar and the winning strike from the impressive Ed Peel.

In-form Deeside Ramblers Ladies, thanks to goals from Beth Wilson and Rachel Kirk, won their league match at home to Broom 2-0 on Saturday before cruising to a 9-0 Cheshire Women’s Cup win at Sale 24 hours later.

Deeside Ramblers Badgers (Dan Verity 2, Harry Armitage, Will Dodd-Moore, Thomas Hood) won 5-3 and Deeside Ramblers Beavers (Freddie Cheshire 5, Frazer Smellie 3, Robert Way 2, James Temple) 11-1.

Chester lost 4-0 at Stockton on Saturday despite a flying start when Bart Ryan-Beswick rattled the woodwork.
