A SLOW start by Deeside Ramblers in their Northern Premier Division match against Oxton almost cost them dearly in a 5-4 victory.

Oxton were fastest off the mark and were 3-0 up after 20 minutes.

It was a rude awakening for Deeside and they battled back to go in 3-3 at half time. Buoyed by the comeback, Deeside went on to score two more in the second half to take the win. Goalscorers were Hedley Pollard, Ibrar Latif (3) and Ghanzafar Ali.

Deeside 3rds celebrated a 3-2 victory at home to Runcorn to stay top of their division.

Deeside Girls U15s put six past Burton to edge a close encounter 6-4 in match where both teams threw caution to the wind. The goals came from Hattie Butler (2), Natasha Slawson (2), Kate Coppack and Lexi Garnett.

A penalty flick competition won the game for Deeside U18s after they drew 4-4 with Tamworth in the HA Cup. It was a game of two halves after Deeside went in 4-0 down but battled back to 4-4 by the end of the second half.

Goals from Rebecca Andrew, Anna Sarstedt, Becky Haslam and Ellie Silcock put them back in contention. Fine goalkeeping from Rebecca Holland saw Deeside progress to the third round after penalties.
